Board Member

Gcinumuzi Viki is an independent financial & management consultant who has significant experience in the corporate world having worked for large corporates in Zimbabwe with operations in other African countries. A broad range of work experience that spans over 23 years in areas of audit, financial reporting, treasury functions, budgeting, business modelling and cost management.

As an independent consultant, work has been done for numerous start- up companies to get them off from concept to full operations. Currently he sits on the Board of Ecocash Private Limited.

Gcinumuzi is a Chartered Accountant, trained with Deloitte, and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe (ICAZ).

Dr. Beauty Mutombe

Board Member

Dr. Beauty Mutombe is currently employed by Hwange Colliery Company Limited (HCCL) as an Executive - Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Public Relations, and has experience which spans over (18) eighteen years in both Private and Public entities.

A strategic and creative thinker Strategic Planning, Execution and Evaluation Expert, an energetic self-motivated Marketer and Business Analyst, specialised in Business Development, Business Growth Initiatives & Strategies, Risk Management and Strategic-Decision Making in both in-house and a B2B client focused.

Beauty is the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Hwange Medical Aid Fund, a committee member of the Coal Producers Association of Zimbabwe,
Brand & Communication Sub – Committee (BCco) Representative for Future Coal Global and chairs the BNI Board.

She holds a PhD – Business Management – Aldersgate University – Philippines, a Masters in Strategic Management & Corporate Governance MSU – Zimbabwe and BCom. (Hons) Business Management in Marketing - Midland State University.

Dr Edwin Nharirire

Board Member

Dr Edwin Nharirire is the Group Human Resources Executive of TSL Limited, a diversified ZSE-listed company, with interests in Agriculture, Logistics and Real Estate. He is a Chartered Human Resources Practitioner (IPMZ) and a Registered Occupational Psychologist (AHPC) with over 20 years of experience in human resources and management. He served as the People & Culture (Human Resources) Director for World Vision International (Zimbabwe), and Human Resources Manager and Group Psychologist for Delta where he served in its various divisions.

He is a holder of a PhD in Consulting Psychology from the University of South Africa, an MBA, an MSc in Occupational Psychology, and a BSc Honours degree in Psychology all from the University of Zimbabwe. He is also a holder of various human resources and management certificates.

He sits on the Skills Retention and Development Fund board of the Public Service Commission.

Silvernos Mudekunye

Board Member

Silvernos Mudekunye has over 30 years of work experience in the insurance sector after having worked in various insurance and reinsurance institutions which include Old Mutual, Foundation Mutual, ZimRe / Baobab Reinsurance Company and First Mutual Reinsurance Company (Private) Limited.

Silvernos has conducted training in life and medical underwriting, claims assessment, marketing and product design for general insurers, health insurers and life insurers in Zimbabwe and in the region.

He has extensive experience in the areas of Life Insurance and Medical Insurance, Life and Non - Life Reinsurance, Business strategy, Project Management, Risk Management and Corporate Governance.

Silvernos holds a B. Com (Hons) degree in Insurance & Risk Management from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and is currently studying for a Master of Business Administration with Management College (SA). Silvernos also holds a Certificate of Proficiency from Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe and Management Development Program – Best Practices 2005.

Saidi Sangula

Board Member

Saidi Sangula is a Partner at D. Matete & Company Law Chambers, a leading commercial law firm, providing Infrastructure, Construction, Energy, Financial & Corporate Law Advisory Services in Zimbabwe.

He is a legal and governance expert with over 27 years’ experience in Zimbabwe, having worked for both private and public sector institutions.

Saidi Sangula currently chairs the boards of Tudor House Consultants (Private) and Wraprite (Private) Limited.

He holds an LLM in Energy Law and Policy, from the University of Dundee in Scotland, a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Laws (Honors) Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Diploma in People Management from the Institute of People Management in Zimbabwe and a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner.

Isaac Gunda

Chief Executive Officer

Isaac Gunda is a qualified Fellow of Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA) as well Insurance Institute Diploma holder (IISA). He has also been certified by Uganda Retirement Regulatory Authority as a trainer in Pension Administration. Isaac is the Chief Executive Officer of Transaxis Reinsurance Company P/L.

Prior to his appointment Isaac has been involved in providing consultancy and training services to the insurance industries of Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. He has served the insurance industry for over 30 years in non-life insurance, life insurance, reinsurance, pension administration and Health Insurance in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya and Uganda.

For 14 years, Isaac worked under the African Management Consultancy Services (AMSCO), an arm of the United Nations Development Program, to provide capacity building, training services and consultancy to private sector insurance/reinsurance/health insurance and pension administration companies in Sub Saharan Africa. During this professional career, Isaac has been involved in successfully setting up 4 greenfield insurance/reinsurance entities (including First Mutual Reinsurance) in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Uganda. TransAxis Reinsurance becomes the 5-greefield.
Isaac holds a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Zimbabwe plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the same University. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Uganda Management Institute and has attended several courses in management and insurance.

Chrispen Solomon Zviuya

Chrispen Zviuya is a Registered Public Accountant (Zimbabwe) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute in Zimbabwe.

An accomplished and experienced Chartered Secretary, with a strong background in reinsurance business administration, and possesses excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to provide and uphold corporate governance practices, ensuring compliance of the Company with relevant laws and regulations and fostering transparent communication and high-quality administration support to the Board of Directors. He contributes to building trust among stakeholders and promoting ethical business conduct. He attended various local and international courses in Strategic Planning, Corporate Governance, Financial & Management Accounting, and Technical Accounting.

He is also a holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Zimbabwe and has over 20 years’ experience in the Reinsurance industry in Zimbabwe.

Mkhanyisi Laurence Thwala

Operations Manager

Mkhanyisi’ s mark on the insurance landscape encompasses diligent and all-round underwriting, claims management, technical accounting, and client relation management experience, with over 14 years in non-life insurance and reinsurance. A self-starter, with a technical acumen, in the various classes under property and casualty reinsurance.

Mkhanyisi is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), and is currently studying towards a MSc in Risk Management and Insurance with the same Institution. He also holds a Certificate in Project Management and is a member of Project Management Zimbabwe(PMZ).
